…Adventure Galley? Let’s start the week off with a bang. Today Style Etoile brings you Adventure Galley—a Portland sextet who are having some serious post-punk fun. These guys remind us of The Killers meets ANR and they have that sad-dance-y quality that we love so much. This is infectious, get-the-party-started stuff, and we can’t wait to hear what they come up with next—if the few songs that have just been previewed are any indication, 2012 is going to be a real jam for these guys (and for those of us who listen to them)…

why aren’t you listening to…

…Gauntlet Hair? As we creep up on one of Style Etoile’s favorite events of the year, CMJ, we are getting more and more excited for all of the amazing emerging acts that lie in our near future. Gauntlet Hair fall into this category. Gauntlet Hair is not subtle. They are joyous and excited and no-holes-barred, and we love them for it. The above track “Keep Time” is the first song off of their debut album Top Bunk (out October 18th). The band’s explosive, uplifting sound reminds us of a cross between The Killers and Passion Pit, and we can’t wait to see them at the Reverb party on the 22nd…

why aren’t you listening to . . .
. . . Walk the Moon (@walkthemoonband)? It is Lollapalooza countdown time and one of the acts Style Etoile is most excited to see is Walk the Moon. The Cincinnati quartet makes catchy pop music that is anthemic and joyous and bursting at the seams with life. They are having fun and we can’t help but have fun along with them. Walk the Moon reminds us a little of the Killers and a little of Spoon, but we are generally having too good of a time when their 2010 release I Want! I Want! is on to be reminded of much of anything.

why aren’t you listening to . . .
. . . Spector (@bloodroyale)? It’s Wednesday and Style Etoile is here with a little anthemic rock to push us over the hump. Spector is a young London quintet and yes, they are named after the (in)famous producer. The lads are making ambitious tracks that swell and shift and get inside you and make you happy. Their sound is a cross between The Killers and Arcade Fire and we always get great feedback when we throw this on at a party. Their new release comes out June 20th, but you can go ahead and stream it here . . .
