why aren’t you listening to . . . Spector

why aren’t you listening to . . .

. . . Spector (@bloodroyale)? It’s Wednesday and Style Etoile is here with a little anthemic rock to push us over the hump. Spector is a young London quintet and yes, they are named after the (in)famous producer. The lads are making ambitious tracks that swell and shift and get inside you and make you happy. Their sound is a cross between The Killers and Arcade Fire and we always get great feedback when we throw this on at a party. Their new release comes out June 20th, but you can go ahead and stream it here . . .

. . . Butterflies on Strings

. . . Butterflies on Strings (@thebutterflies)? “Butterflies on Strings” is a pretty delicate name for such a rowdy group of UK rockers, but we dig it. BOS makes hopeful, hook-y, guitar pop that is straightforward and fun. The indie quartet has a sound that is part Death Cab for Cutie, part the Strokes, and Style Etoile is buyin’ what they’re sellin’. Check out their tracks here

why aren’t you listening to . . . Biffy Clyro

why aren’t you listening to . . .

. . . Biffy Clyro (@biffy_clyro)? Style Etoile are suckers for a Scottish accent. And great music. And moving live shows. So basically we were destined to fall for Biffy Clyro from the start. This UK-based trio are a pretty big deal over on the Continent, and we think it is just a matter of time for the folks on this side of the pond to catch up. Biffy Clyro makes awesome rock ‘n’ roll—plain and simple. They make boot-thumpers, fist pumpers, and heart breakers, and we love it all. Style Etoile saw these guys in NYC in February and by the end of the show we were utterly exhausted . . . in the most satisfying way possible.
