Keep Shelly In Athens “Lazy Noon”

…Keep Shelly In Athens (@keepshellyinath)?  Style Etoile is feeling moody.  Not the crabby, sorry-for-yourself kind of moody, but the lounge-y, groove-y kind, and we have Keep Shelly in Athens to thank for this sexy state. The Greek duo is releasing their (uh-maaazing) 12-inch EP Our Own Dream in limited vinyl the first week of November and after hearing the above single, we are jonesing to get our hands on one.  If you like the subdued electro-pop beats of Theivery Corporation and Weekend Players, make sure to check these guys out.  Better yet, join us at their November 18th Bowery Ballroom show with Body Language…

CANT “Too Late Too Far”

…CANT (@CANTtweets)?  CANT is the solo project of Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor, and yes, it is awesome.  CANT’s debut album Dreams Come True was released last month, and Style Etoile hasn’t been able to stop listening to it since.  It is a little more dance-y and 80s-influenced (we hear a lot of Prince) than Grizzly Bear, but with the same superb production and attention to detail.  The album features session work with Style Etoile favorite Twin Shadow and it is full of moody, layered magic that sounds fresh with each listen and we can’t wait to catch Chris at Bowery Ballroom on October 25th

Body Language “Tempoture”

…Body Language (@body_language)?  It’s always a good sign when Style Etoile loves all of a band’s songs so much we have a hard time deciding which to post.  Such is the case with Brooklyn quartet Body Language.  We have had our eyes on these guys for a while now and after hearing some tracks off of their upcoming nine song EP Social Studies (out October 18th), we knew we could no longer keep them to ourselves.  These guys are making disco-y, synth-y, get-your-groove-on tracks that remind us of an Animal Collective/Passion Pit/Vampire Weekend hybrid.  Style Etoile can’t wait to bust a move at their November 18th Bowery Ballroom with Keep Shelly in Athens—do yourselves a favor and join us…
