…Dante (@kinnunendante)? Well apparently Style Etoile is feeling sexy this month. As a follow up to last week’s sultry number, today we give you Dante. Dante is Dante Kinnunen, the drummer for Swedish band The Concretes and his solo project is proving this guy has a lot more up his sleeve than his already impressive percussive talents. The above track is part of his three-track EP and includes some perfectly-incorporated samples of Adele’s “He Won’t Go.” This is beautifully produced, soulful music and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next…

why aren’t you listening to…
…Lucy Rose (@lucyrosemusic)? Style Etoile spent the summer a little caught up in pop-y, dance-y tunes (which certainly isn’t a bad thing), but now our brain has shifted a little and we are really loving simple, beautiful, acoustic magic. Lucy Rose couldn’t fit the bill more perfectly. Her second single “Scar” was just released electronically and we love it just as much as her debut track “Middle of the Bed.” This young lady reminds us of a cross between Adele and Cat Power and we have no doubt she is going to be a big bright shining star.

. . . Michael Kiwanuka (@michaelkiwanuka)? Bill Withers provided the soundtrack for Style Etoile’s first kiss . . . because it’s kind of hard not to kiss when you are listening to Bill Withers. The same is true of Michael Kiwanuka. He, too, has a gravely, soulful, aching voice that he pairs with smooth, jazzy, blues-y music. The 23 year-old Londoner has been supporting Adele for a large part of her tour, and we can see why—this guy is the real deal, and he has the same love for heartache as his headliner . . . check out his Tell Me A Tale EP released this week, and don’t forget the breathmints.

why aren’t you listening to . . .
. . . The Civil Wars (@thecivilwars)? Maybe it’s the years we spent in Nashville or maybe it’s just our love for all things with soul, but Style Etoile has a serious place in our hearts for country folk . . . and The Civil Wars make beautiful, sincere country folk. The Nashville duo reminds us of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and together they make magic. Adele calls The Civil Wars “by far the BEST live band ‘I’ve’ EVER seen,” and we can’t wait to see for ourselves when they play the El Rey Theater in LA on June 15th. Check out their 2011 release Barton Hollow and explore your inner twang.
